Crash throws woman off back of motorcycle killing her, officials say

The man who was with her was rushed to the hospital in stable condition.

SAN ANTONIO — A deadly crash shuts down Highway 90 early Saturday morning after two people on a motorcycle were hit by another vehicle killing a woman, according to San Antonio Police. 

The incident took place around 2 a.m. Saturday off the westbound lanes of highway 90 near General McMullen. 

Officials say the motorcycle was side-swiped throwing two people off the bike and onto the highway. 

The woman riding on the back of the bike suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to officials.

The man who was with her was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. 

Medical examiners identified the victim as 44-year-old Amy Garza, a Lubbock radio show host known as "Amy-O" on 104.9 The Beat.

Police have not released information on whether the other driver is facing charges and the crash is under investigation.
