MISSOURI CITY, Texas — The missing 11-year-old who was at the center of Friday's AMBER Alert out of Missouri City, Texas has been found alive, according to FBI Houston.
The agency tweeted the girl was found at about 9:30 p.m. in southeast Houston.
No further details were given.
FBI Houston, the Houston Police Department and the Missouri City Police Department worked together to locate the girl.
The mystery of who took the girl remains unknown. Police reported she left with a Hispanic man who was driving a newer model gray pickup truck.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Texas DPS originally identified a 28-year-old man as the suspect in this case, and included a photo in the AMBER Alert. They later sent an update with a new photo of a different person of interest. Shortly before 4:30 p.m. Friday, Missouri City police cleared the second individual.
A security guard working the night shift in her neighborhood said he saw her and her abductor leave.
“It was kind of suspicious, I had never seen this truck before and I’m here every day," said Hector Adame, the guard.
Adame said the truck pulled into the neighborhood, stopped and parked for about 20 minutes before driving back up the block and stopping in front of a house. He said he could hear the driver talking with someone before he got out of the truck.
“He walked to the corner of the house,” Adame said. “And then, all of a sudden, they, him and the little girl, no more than 11 or 12 years old, walked back. He must’ve been at least in his 20s or 30s.”
Adame said it didn't appear that the girl was being forced into the truck.
“He gets in, she gets in, and so at that moment, I’m like I kind of wanted to go over there and stop them, because I thought it was kind of suspicious. But at the same time, he wasn’t dragging her or anything," Adame said.
The child's grandmother, Kimberly Wright, said she has ran away from home before. She said she found a makeshift rope coming from the 11-year-old's second-floor room Friday morning.
