Grieving Temple mother says they'll seek justice in son's death

The body of Amarioon Moore was discovered along Lower Troy Road in Temple.

TEMPLE, Texas — For two grueling weeks, the family of 20-year-old Amarioon Moore has gone door-to-door hanging fliers and asking the community to spread the message about his disappearance.

The missing father was last seen at his grandmother's house during a family get together and his last words to them showed no sign of the nightmare to come.

"His last words were: 'Mama, I'll be right back.' That was his last words," Moore's mother Ketchia Thomas told 6 News on April 12.

6 News began to report on Moore's disappearance after the family reached out to our newsroom.

On April 5, nearly a week since he'd been missing, we followed Thomas and her daughter as they canvassed the community with missing person posters.

"Just so people can see and know that this is my son and I need everybody help," Thomas said on April 5.

Just as the search reached two weeks, Thomas was notified by Temple Police that her son's body was located on Lower Troy Road near Little Elm Creek.

According to Temple PD, his body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy and the case is considered a death investigation until the results come back.

Ketchia Thomas told 6 News that she doesn't know what the timeline is for when the autopsy will be complete, but she wants to be able to see her son one last time before he is laid to rest.

The Temple Police Department is actively investigating the case and urges anyone with information to contact them at 254-298-5500 or contact Bell County Crimestoppers.
