Fun things to do this weekend in San Antonio

MOVIES
A true Hollywood legend will be on the big screen Friday evening, March 23, at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.
“Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” is screening as part of the “Starlight movie in the Garden” series. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

FAMILIES AND CHILDREN
Children of all ages are invited to a Muppet Babies “Play Date” at Ingram Park Mall.
Saturday, March 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., kids can meet Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and all of their friends. The event will also include arts and crafts, music, face painting and more.

The Easter Bunny will be available for affordable photos at Wonderland of the Americas at 4522 Fredericksburg Road.
It costs $5 per 4x6 photo. That will be every Saturday and Sunday, March 23-April 1 at 10am - 5pm.

FESTIVALS
Family FIESTAval happens Saturday, March 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aggie Park, 6305 West Ave.
The event is in conjunction with Fiesta Especial and it will give families a chance to meet the Fiesta Especial Royal Court.
There will also be food trucks, entertainment and fun for the whole family.
General Admission $2 for individual or $5 total for a family or household.

Indian cuisine, clothing, entertainment and more comes to life at the Festival of India at La Villita.
This is the 35th year of the festival that celebrates Indian culture in San Antonio.
It runs from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, March 24 at Maverick Square.

WEEKEND RACES
The VIVA SA Run returns to San Antonio Saturday, March 23. The run benefits the Junior League of San Antonio in their mission to help more than 60 nonprofit organizations.
The race course takes you along the San Antonio River, loops around Blue Star and finishes at Hemisfair Park. After the race, there will be a celebration including drinks, food and prizes.
The race leaves from Hemisfair. Pre-race activities start at 7:00 a.m. and the race starts at 8:00 a.m.

Give cancer the boot and get fit at the same time!
The annual Give Cancer the Boot 5K is Saturday, March 23, at 9:00 a.m. and leaves from Mays Cancer Center. Cancer survivors and children under 12 are free. All others are $20.

It’s time for a new chapter in the Mayor’s Book Club!
On Saturday, March 24, City Councilman Cruz Shaw will host “Our Family Reads” at Schaefer Library from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
