Family of five lucky to escape with no major injuries from road rage shooter, officials say

Police say the shooter fired at the vehicle, hitting a 10-year-old boy in the back seat before taking off.

SAN ANTONIO — A family of five is a victim of a road rage incident after a driver shoots at the family's vehicle on the northeast side Wednesday night, according to officials. 

Police reported the incident took place at the 8900 block of Airport Blvd around 10:11 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials say the family was driving with three children in the car along an access road of Loop 410 between Nacogdoches and Broadway when another vehicle started road raging around them and fired three to four shots at the family's SUV. 

Police say the shooter fired at the vehicle hitting a 10-year-old boy in the back seat before taking off. The boy seemed okay and only needed a band aid for his injury. 

Police say the bullet bounced in the car before hitting him in the leg. 

The family was able to pull into a gas station and call for help. 

The suspected shooter has not been found and police said they don't have a good description of that person.
