'All clear' given after bomb threat at Texas State leads to evacuations

The threat was determined to be unfounded, the university said.

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Police have given the "all clear" after a bomb threat at Texas State University in San Marcos led to the evacuation of five residence halls on Monday evening. The threat was determined to be unfounded, the university said.

The buildings were evacuated “out of an abundance of caution.” All halls have now reopened.

The residence halls evacuated included Butler Hall, College Inn, Derrick Hall, Jackson Hall and Tower Hall. The university said Alkek Library, LBJ Student Center and dining halls were open for students to utilize during the evacuations.
