Lexington comes to life at the Blue Ghost comic book launch party!

The museum teamed up with a graphic artist who created a character after the iconic ship!

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —

The community boarded the U.S.S. Lexington Museum today for a Blue Ghost comic book launch party.

The 32-page comic book features the Lexington transforming into a mechanized guardian robot created by Juan Carlos Ramos.

"Coming to fruition was probably my ultimate dream come true beyond excited and so happy to see that it's being well received,” said Ramos. “Also, more importantly, honoring and respecting the veterans and also giving back to the community."

Ramos encouraged everyone to climb aboard the Lexington to check out all that the museum has to offer.

Below is the story before the update.

The U.S.S Lexington Museum is inviting the community for a Blue Ghost comic book launch party this weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The museum teamed up with a graphic artist who created a character after the blue ghost herself!

The 32-page comic book features the Lexington transforming into a mechanized guardian robot.

"It's a great way to bring a new audience to the Lexington," the museum's marketing director, Samantha Koepp-Stemplinger said. "General admission is what really provides the revenue that we need to preserve the ship, and continue providing that legacy, history of former crew to the younger generations."

Entry to the event is free for those who pay general admission to the ship.
