Video shows carjacker falling out of seat after crashing stolen Amazon delivery van in SW Houston, police say

The victim said the carjacker approached him, threatened him with a gun, and demanded the keys to his van.

HOUSTON — Dashcam video just released by investigators shows a suspected carjacker crashing a stolen Amazon delivery van after robbing a driver back in November in southwest Houston.

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man shown in the video.

This happened around 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 while the delivery driver was dropping off a package at an apartment complex on West Airport.

The victim said the carjacker approached him, threatened him with a gun, and demanded the keys to his van. Once the carjacker had the keys, he forced the delivery driver to tell him how to operate the van.

The carjacker then sped away in the van but ended up crashing the vehicle about a half mile away on Uptown, police said. He then ran away from the scene.

Police described the suspect as a Black male, about 18 to 23 years old, 6 feet to about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, black shoes, and a black mask.
