Caught on camera: Two people steal decorative art in broad daylight from SA residents' front yard

A San Antonio resident is asking people to keep an eye out for their yard art after it was stolen from their front yard.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio resident is searching for their irreplaceable yard decoration after two people stole it from their front yard in the middle of the day.

The two people were caught on the property owner's security camera trying to haul off the stone not once but twice.

The property owner has asked to remain anonymous and said they are in disbelief over the fact someone would steal a heavy piece of art from their yard.

The video shows a man approaching the front porch of the home. He then leans over to pick up the artwork and when he can't pick it up himself, he gets someone to help him.

A woman later joins the man and together they haul the large decoration to their truck and drive off.

"It blows my mind that people would walk up on your property in the daylight and steal your belongings," the property owner said.

The piece of art is custom made, something the property owner had created around four years ago. They said it's something they will most likely never be able to have made again.

It has a large picture of Texas with the Texas flag inside of it, with blue bonnets on the side, something the owner said they loved.

A police report with SAPD has been filed but so far no one has found anything.

SAPD has yet to get back to KENS 5 as to where they are in the investigation.

Right now the property owner said they just want their custom art back not broken and not damaged.

"I won't ask any questions," they said.
