Pink Shark, a friendly and inclusive downtown bar, now offering breakfast

Couple Jessica Marinez and Amber Hernandez opened Pink Shark in the fall of 2022 in the heart of downtown San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO — Friendly, energetic, service.

That’s how Amber Hernandez describes the Pink Shark - an eclectic bar that now serves delicious breakfast treats.

Couple Jessica Marinez and Amber Hernandez opened Pink Shark in the fall of 2022 in the heart of downtown San Antonio and recently started offering an array of bagel bites, smoothies, juices, and morning cocktails.

“We noticed a lot of tourists and people that work here in downtown, and we wanted to offer some healthy options and we wanted to provide something more than a breakfast biscuit. We wanted to show what San Antonio has to offer.”

Hernandez – who typically creates the cocktail menu got really creative trying to find what to add to their new morning cuisine.

“A lot of trial and error. A lot of bagels,” she laughed. “It’s kind of been a work in progress, definitely like a six-month thing from talking about it, then putting menu items together and ideas, and actually making everything and sourcing it. So, it’s been definitely a few months in the works.”

Their featured bagels are the Cowabunga, Love You Berry Much, Apple Cinnamon, Hippie and Jalapeno Popper which highlights different ingredients like bacon, berries, and avocadoes.

Hernandez said right now her favorite is the Love You Berry Much bagel.

Their sunny sips include refreshing smoothies like Morning Glory which is a concoction of strawberry, banana and coconut milk. And if you’re needing an extra kick, they also have darks sips like their N. Presa Coffee or Carajillo, and classic staples like bloody mary’s and mimosas.

Hernandez and Marinez wanted to make sure there was something for everyone on their new menu.

Guests can also enjoy Shark Hour from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for amazing deals on food and drinks. The bar is open most days at 8 a.m. until 2 a.m.

“So, if you’re coming down for business or coming down for fun we’re always open.”

Hernandez and Marinez are no strangers to the bar industry, they also own Picks Bar and The Sore Loser.

Their newest baby, the Pink Shark is known for its eclectic aesthetic and energetic atmosphere.

“I think this is definitely a different concept for down here,” Hernandez said.

The Pink Shark will also be expanding their business in the next couple of months. They are planning on having another room complete by Fiesta.
