Where you can celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the Alamo City

The occasion celebrates Mexico's fight for independence after its victory at the Battle of Puebla. San Antonio offers plenty of options to honor the historic day.

SAN ANTONIO — From authentic mariachi music at the Historic Market Square to all-day happy hour at Chuy's, there are plenty of ways San Antonians can celebrate Cinco de Mayo. 

KENS 5 has compiled a list of Cinco de Mayo events going on around the Alamo City:

May 2-5

SeaWorld has begun their Cinco de Mayo celebration with its Seven Seas Food Festival, where guest can immerse themselves in Mexican culture with margiitas, tacos, fried elote con queso, carnitas and sweet desserts. Season and Annual Pass Members can also enjoy a special treat with a free sample of mini churros or horchata.

Saturday, May 4

People can continue their Cinco de Mayo celebration by joining the San Antonio Tacos & Margs Crawl, where partygoers will start at Pat O'Brien's and have the chance to receive a reward by completing the crawl. The event will start at 2 p.m. with VIP guests getting early entry at noon

Caliente Harley-Davidson is set to host a Cinco de Mayo Celebration event of their own from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. where party goers can enjoy music, drinks and motorcycles.

Sunday, May 5 (Cinco de Mayo)

There will be a Cinco de Mayo Concert held at Traders Village with music performances by Las Fenix, Conjunto Cats and Culture Jam SA. Along with other festivities and traditional foods. The free event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and will go until 5 p.m.

Painting with a Twist will be hosting a Tacos and Tequila for Cinco de Mayo! Dead Sexy painting party. Painters can pay for a a 16x20 canvas for $39 or add a frame for $48. This is a bring your own beer event but they will be providing the crispy tacos.

Picks Bar will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo themed Drag Brunch where guests can enjoy booze n' brunch featuring drag performers of Rey Lopez Entertainment from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with happy hour afterwards.

Chuy's is joining the Cinco de Mayo fun by offering all-day happy hour which will include $6 House 'Ritas and $10 Grande House 'Ritas. But that's not all as they will also be offering all-day $5 Chips 'N' Dips where guests can choose from Queso, Queso Compuesto, Lil' Chuy Gooey or the Boom-Boom Pow dips.
