It may be your wallet, thanks to that last fill-up or two.

The price of gasoline continues on an upward trend, rising more than 10 cents per gallon in the last week. In the Twin Cities drivers are shelling out an average of $3.29 based on GasBuddy's survey of more than 1,100 stations.

That's 20.4 cents higher than a month ago, and just short of a dollar more than at the same time last year. The lowest Twin Cities price found on GasBuddy's app was $2.99, while the highest was $3.70.

“Gas prices saw their sharpest rise in months last week as oil surged to $93 per barrel, on continued concerns over Russia invading Ukraine and that there won't be enough supply to meet demand come this summer," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "With the national average at its highest level since 2014, the news is grim: motorists should expect even more price increases, with the larger jumps coming later this spring as a confluence of seasonal factors and the potential flare up in geopolitical tensions"

In face, De Haan says the national average could be pushed into record territory by the start of the summer driving season.

The jump at the pump was a bit higher in Minnesota than across the nation, where average prices are up 8 cents per gallon to reach $3.42.

Here's where things are at in neighboring states:

  • Wisconsin- $3.20/g, up 9.5 cents per gallon from last week's $3.10/g.
  • Sioux Falls- $3.27/g, up 11.7 cents per gallon from last week's $3.15/g.
