Frisco is back! Dog taken from Austin Pets Alive! by unauthorized person found safe and well

APA! said Frisco was found “thanks to longtime volunteer Laura Davis” but did not provide more details.

AUSTIN, Texas — A dog who went missing from Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) last month has been found safe and well and is now back in the shelter’s care.

APA! said Frisco was found “thanks to longtime volunteer Laura Davis” but did not provide more details.

The 9-month-old dog was taken from the shelter on Sunday, Jan. 7, the same day APA! had its transport van stolen. The shelter said an unauthorized person took Frisco off campus and he hadn’t been seen since.

Officials with APA! posted on lost-and-found pages, distributed flyers and alerted other animal shelters in their mission to find Frisco, a friendly lab mix.

Meanwhile, APA! said its transport van was recovered several hours after being stolen from its downtown campus last month. Unfortunately, the van was no longer running and the facility's gate suffered about $13,000 in damage.
