PHOENIX — There is a new addition to the Phoenix Zoo!
Sunshine, one of the zoo's beloved Masai giraffes, gave birth to the baby girl on Oct. 25 and she needs a name.
The zoo has asked for the community to vote on what name the baby giraffe should have. The choices are:
As of Friday afternoon, Aurora had the most votes with 46%. Kianga is in second place with 34% of the total votes.
The baby is currently getting used to her surroundings in the giraffe barn but she is expected to make her appearance in the African Savanna exhibit in the next couple of weeks.
Voting for the new calf's name ends on Nov. 27.
