Lorena High School marching band named finalist in Metallica Marching Band Competition

The competition is sponsored by the heavy metal band, Metallica. Watch their performance below.

LORENA, Texas — 'Enter Sandman?' More like enter Lorena High School Leopard Band!

Earlier this week, Lorena ISD announced on Facebook that the high school marching band was named one of the five finalists in the Metallica Marching Band Competition.

The competition is being hosted by the heavy metal band, Metallica, themselves.

"Metallica challenges marching bands at all levels to craft the most exciting, unique, and impressive performances of Metallica's music," the competition website said.

If the Leopard Band wins, they will get free musical equipment for their school program, "furnished by Metallica and our sponsors," the website continues.

Originally, 125 bands from across the country competed. The Leopard band was selected for their performance of "Enter Sandman," which you can watch below.
