Record number of families apprehended at the border, data shows

U.S. district judge Richard Seeborg is pumping the brakes on the migrant protection protocols policy Monday, two months after it was first introduced by the Department of Homeland Security. Also known as the ‘Remain in Mexico' policy, the MPP was created in response to the surge of asylum seekers arriving at the southern border.
