Boerne's Dog & Pony Grill to reopen this spring

The restaurant closed in January and workers said they weren't paid.

In Boerne, the Dog and Pony Grill is coming back to life. Crews are working as renovations outside are underway.

On the inside, new ownership works to repair the wallets of former employees.

"Today we finally got paid after 43 days, we finally got paid by these new guys that bought the Dog and Pony," said former employee Daniel Marquez.

Thursday, Bach Holdings announced they'd bought and planned to relaunch the Boerne staple - but not before doing right by employees left unpaid by the last company to run the place.

"We felt like it was the right thing to step forth and make those people whole and this week they got paid," explained Brandon Fuller.

For the new team running the restaurant, this move shows the community what they're about.

"It's very important I think it shows our commitment to the city of Boerne and the people of Boerne," said Fuller.

The new ownership team hopes to open the Dog and Pony Grill in the spring.

They're offering jobs to people let go when the restaurant shut down.

In the meantime, work is being done to revamp the place - new menu, live music, and expanded play place.

"Have some fun and relax, enjoy good company good music and good food," said Fuller.

These former employees are thankful for the money and kindness of these new owners. They believe this business will be on the right foot in no time.

"We wish them good luck with the new place. We hope they're going to get this place right on track," said Marquez.

The restaurant is located at 1481 South Main Street in Boerne. For more information, visit their website.
