SAN ANTONIO — A strong cold front and upper level low are expected to move through South Central Texas this weekend.
Saturday night into Sunday, cold air will move in behind the front, creating the possibility of a rain/snow mix in portions of the Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and some areas east of I-35, according to the National Weather Service.
It is not clear if, where, or when any accumulating snow may occur.
The wintry mix aside, cold rain of up to an inch is possible along and east of the I-35 corridor.
KENS 5 meteorologist Andrew Wilson predicts a low chance for a 'wintry mix' in our area and said that we will be lucky if we see a few flurries in the Hill Country.
At this time, there is a winter storm watch in effect for Lubbock and the surrounding area.
