Mammatus clouds over Central Texas as severe threat comes to an end

The severe threat has officially ended for the KVUE area. Breezy and cooler weather moves in for Saturday.

AUSTIN, Texas — What a Friday evening it's been for Central Texas. A solid line of severe storms swept through the area, but the severe threat has officially ended for the entire KVUE area.

We've had countless photos sent in of hail across the area, and also many beautiful photos of mammatus clouds both ahead of and in the wake of our storms.

The storms have ended, but it will stay very breezy overnight and even through Saturday with wind gusts as high as 40 mph possible.

It will also be chilly for Saturday morning with temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s. The afternoon on Saturday will be sunny, breezy, and pleasant with afternoon highs in the mid-70s.

Warmer weather quickly resumes on Sunday, and we stay hot and mainly dry through the first half of next week with no chance for additional severe weather.

The KVUE Weather Team will continue to monitor the forecast closely and provide updates on air and online.

In the meantime, here is a look at your extended forecast:
