Nonstop seasonal flights to Cancun will soon be offered out of San Antonio International Airport

'Prior to the pandemic, more than 61,000 travelers flew between San Antonio and Cancun each year,' Jesus H. Saenz, Director of Airports at SAT said.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) will soon be offering a more direct route to the popular vacation getaway spot of... Cancun!

According to a press release from the City of San Antonio's Aviation Department, Sun Country Airlines will offer seasonal nonstop service from SAT to Cancun International Airport in Quintana Roo Mexico starting on May 28.

The roundtrip flight will run twice a week on Monday and Friday and offers another option for low-cost travel. 

Of the announcement, Jesus H. Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System said, "As travel picks up, we expect Cancun to resume being a popular destination for leisure travelers. Prior to the pandemic, more than 61,000 travelers flew between SAT and Cancun each year."

In celebration of the new route, Sun Country is offering special introductory fares as low as $129 one way for a limited time.
