Thousand Oaks Drive between Wurzbach Parkway and I-35 will be closed Thursday, January 10, 2019 starting at 7 a.m.

SAN ANTONIO — Drivers on the northeast side should plan extra time for their Thursday commutes.

The City of San Antonio's Transportation & Capital Improvements, TCI, department reminds drivers of a planned closure on Thousand Oaks Drive (between Wurzbach Parkway and I-35) on Thursday, January 10, 2019 starting at 7 a.m.

The department said signs have already been posted in the area to alert residents and motorists about the closure and detours. Construction crews will be making some repairs at the railroad crossing near I-35. This stretch of roadway on Thousand Oaks Drive is expected to reopen Friday morning.

The construction is part of an ongoing, citywide, improvements project that began in October 2017 and it is a partnership that includes TCI and Union Pacific Railroad Corporation. To date, roadway improvements have been completed at nine locations and more are scheduled in 2019, TCI said.
