Westlake advances to final four, Regents fall in championship game

The Chaps' defense pitched another shutout. Meanwhile, Trinity Christian continues to be a thorn to the Regents in the championship game.

The Westlake Chaparrals overcame significant injuries to not only beat San Antonio Brandeis, but shut them out, 26-0.

Westlake quarterback Taylor Anderson is injured, as is the team's center and their running back. But the Chaps' defense carried the team to another playoff win.

In fact, Westlake's defense has only allowed 21 points in four playoff games.

Up next, the Chaps will meet Beaumont Westbrook in Katy in a class 6A Division II state semifinal game.

For the third consecutive season, Regents Knights advanced to the TAPPS state title game. And for the third consecutive season, they lost in the state title game.

Beck Brydon's Knights lost to Trinity Christian in last season's title game.

Their amazing season ended this year with a loss to Trinity Christian again, 49-24.
