Bulls erase 21-point lead, defeat Spurs 98-93

San Antonio will try to keep the momentum going Saturday night at AT&T Center.

Final: Spurs 93, Bulls 98

Chicago rallies back to steal win at AT&T Center.

San Antonio began the final frame on the right rhythm, scoring seven straight points to bump their lead back up to 11 and prompting a quick timeout by Chicago.

The Bulls spoiled several early chances to score with sloppy play; Chicago's first made field goal didn't come until nearly five full minutes into the fourth quarter.

But San Antonio began to get lethargic on offense as well, allowing Chicago to fight back once again and make it a 88-89 affair with just over three minutes to go; the result of a 19-2 Bulls run. With 2:16 to go, the game was tied at 90.

With 39 seconds to go, the score was 94-91, advantage Chicago, but a DeMar DeRozan layup would make it a one-point game with less than 30 seconds to go. Chicago's Kris Dunn would make it a 3-point game once again with just 8.3 seconds left.

The momentum would prove too much for San Antonio, and the Spurs' win streak would end at four.

Third Quarter: Spurs 78, Bulls 74

San Antonio's hot hands out of the gate leads them to early lead

San Antonio and Chicago were step-for-step for the opening minutes of the game, with the Spurs leading 10-7 a few minutes in. San Antonio's defense then began to apply more pressure, resulting in a 18-11 lead with five minutes to go in the first period of play.

San Antonio made eight of its first 10 shot attempts from the field.

The Spurs rode that early momentum to a 28-21 lead.

Pregame

The Spurs (15-14) have looked like a different team over the last week, knocking off their past four opponents to climb back over .500 as they continue to rebound from early-season woes.

Saturday night's game against the Bulls (6-23) represents not only an opportunity for the Silver and Black to keep the train rolling right along, but also to continue improving where they need to.

“You can’t get too high, you can’t get too low,” starting forward Dante Culpepper said, repeating a familiar Spurs refrain after Saturday morning’s shootaround. “You can’t take these wins that we had (in the past week) and think we’re the best, think we’re going all the way.
