Reagan advances to state championship game for second straight year

All year long, the Reagan Rattlers have been searching for another shot at a state title after losing in the 2017 championship game. Now, they're back.

The Reagan Rattlers only scored in one of the nine innings that they played on Friday in their state semifinal matchup against Cypress Ranch.

Thankfully, it was five runs in the second inning. And that was good enough for the Rattlers to advance to the championship game for the second straight year after beating Cy-Ranch 5-1 on Friday night.

Reagan exploded for five runs on four hits in that pivotal second inning after falling behind 1-0 in the first inning. After that run scored in the first, though, Reagan starter Cal Carver finishing things off, holding Cy-Ranch to just one run on three hits in a complete-game win.

The Rattlers will play Southlake Carroll for the state championship on Friday at 4 p.m. The game will air live on Fox Sports Southwest.
