SAN ANTONIO — On Friday, police arrested 23-year-old Joshua Fuentes after he allegedly told students who were walking to Highland High School that he was going to shoot them and shoot up the school.

Offcials say the students were afraid for their lives and told an SAISD police officer about their encounter with Fuentes.

The officer, identified as Corporal Trim, approached Fuentes who had an active warrant for terroristic threats from an incident in 2016, and was told by the barricaded suspect that 'he better bring the SWAT team because he was going to shoot Corporal Trim and any officer who came to his house.’

The school was placed on lockdown and the surrounding area was blocked off by police.

SWAT negotiators and negotiators arrived on scene and Fuentes was taken into custody at 3 p.m. according to online booking records.

He is facing two charges of Retaliation and Terroristic threats in a public place and against a public servant. He has a combined bond of $21,400.

Police said Fuentes lives about 30-40 yards away from the school and has a history of running up and down the street with a knife in his hands.
