Woman dies after being pinned between vehicles by unlicensed driver near downtown, police say

She was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition, official say.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman exiting her car was hit and pinned in between her car and the driver's vehicle that struck her near downtown Tuesday morning.

It happened around 8:00 a.m. on Dallas Street at Brooklyn Avenue.

Officials at the scene said the woman was getting out of her car when a driver veered towards her car and struck her, sandwiching her in between the two cars.

The 42-year-old woman was taken to BAMC with life-threatening injuries. The Medical Examiner confirmed she died on Tuesday and identified her as Corina Huerta.

Police say the driver, 26, had no license and showed no sign of intoxication.

He was taken into custody for operating a vehicle without a license.

This is a developing story.
