Bexar Co. Republican Party Chair involved in altercation at HQ, per police report

Officers said they were called to the scene for a fight.

SAN ANTONIO — We're learning new details surrounding an incident from December that involved a woman barricading herself inside of the Bexar County Republican Party Headquarters.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. December 16 in the 12000 block of Starcrest Drive on the city's north side.

According to a police report, an altercation occurred between Bexar County Republican Party Chair Cynthia Brehm and another woman at the Bexar County Republican Party Headquarters.

Per the report, officers were advised that an individual who "just committed the alleged assault was refusing to leave the incident location."

Upon further investigation, police learned that Brehm was the one who called police, but the other woman at the scene claimed that Brehm was the one who assaulted her.

According to the woman, the altercation occurred when she asked Brehm for "some documents pertaining to her candidacy submissions." Per the report, the woman was apparently "under the ideology that [Brehm] had lost a total of nine candidate submission documents on purpose."

During the responding officer's investigation, he said that Brehm became irate and stated that the responding officer was not doing his job. She then proceeded to lock herself in the "Chair Woman" office and called 911, requesting to speak to the responding officer's supervisor.

Meanwhile, Brehm claimed that the other woman was the one who came to her office and assaulted her.

No charges have been filed at this time, but the case is still under investigation.
