AUSTIN, Texas — Following this week’s ice storm, cities within Central Texas are offering resources for residents to dispose of tree limbs and other debris.
Within the City of Kyle, residents can dispose of tree limbs, brush and other debris from their yards at a four different locations across the City. Residents can dispose of any excess landscaping between 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, and Sunday, Feb. 5.
City officials have arranged the following dumpsters to dispose the excess brush into:
- Steeplechase Park, located at 295 Hallie Dr.
- Waterleaf Park, located at 721 – 551 Abundance Ln.
- Gregg-Clarke Park, located at 1231 – 1301 W. Center St.
- Lake Kyle Park, located at 700 Lehman Rd.
In Pflugerville, city and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) residents who have also been impacted by downed trees and branches will have two locations to dispose of the debris.
In addition to the locations, residents can opt-in for curbside pickup to residents that are Waste Connection customers. If residents are eligible, they can place tree limbs, brush and other debris on their curbs for a two-week period, during the weeks starting on Feb. 6 and Feb. 13.
For residents that are not Waste Connection customers and do not have access to the curbside pickup option, they are able to dispose of their debris from Feb. 6-20 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the following locations:
- Pflugerville Recycle Center, located at 15500 Sun Light Near Way
- Pfennig Park, located at 1301 W. Pfennig Ln.
- 103 W. Railroad Ave.
The City of Round Rock has opened an additional temporary brush recycling location and is allowing residents to request free brush pickup over the coming weeks.
The services below are free and only available for in-city residents. If you are unsure whether you live in the Round Rock City limits, you can use this tool.
Residents can drop off brush for free from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday at the following locations:
- Brush Recycling Center, 310 Deepwood Drive
- East Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, 3939 E. Palm Valley Blvd.
Anyone using this service must prove residency by showing a current City of Round Rock water bill and valid drivers license. Absolutely no contract dropoff is allowed.
For smaller limbs, as part of the City’s contract with Central Texas Refuse, residents can place up to seven additional items free of charge next to their garbage container along the curb on their trash pickup day. Brush must be bundled, and each bundle must be less than 40 pounds and no larger than 4 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet. Central Texas Refuse is running on a delayed schedule due to the ice storm. This service is free for existing City of Round Rock trash customers and does not require any additional signup.
For larger limbs, residents can schedule a free curbside pickup through the City’s Online Service Request form or by calling 512-218-5540. The fee for this service is expected to be waived at least through the end of February..
Brush must be piled on the curb, with limbs no longer than 10 feet and not bundled.
