The Toyota Plant halted production Wednesday morning in the wake of severe storms that blasted into San Antonio overnight Tuesday.

In a press release, Toyota spokeswoman Melissa Sparks said that production will not resume on Wednesday and that the plant will also be closed on Thursday.

Beyond that, Toyota has not said anything about their production timeline.

According to Toyota Spokesman Mario Lozoya, officials were surveying just how bad the damage was at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Lozoya added that first shift workers production workers that normally arrive at work at 6:30 a.m. were asked to not come in. Second shift workers that arrive at 6:30 p.m. were asked to call the Toyota tip line to check if they would be required to do the same.

Toyota also said production would not resume Thursday, but some team members were required to be on site working in non-production areas.

Toyota has noted that employees have three options while production is suspended: don't show up to work and don't get paid, use vacation days and get paid, or show up to work and work in a different department.
