When Slayer announced at the beginning of this year that they would be embarking on their final tour, many residents in San Antonio - once dubbed the "Heavy Metal Capital of the World" - felt snubbed when the schedule showed dates for Dallas, Houston, and Austin, but not San Antonio.
With the second leg of their U.S. tour announced, the thrash metal legends have redeemed themselves by adding a date in the Alamo City.
Slayer will be "raining blood" at the Freeman Coliseum on August 15 alongside a slew of metal legends. Lamb of God, Anthrax, Testament, and Napalm Death are also on the bill, according to Slayer's website.
Slayer says this tour is their way to "thank their fans for all of their support over the years, for making the last three-and-a-half decades so packed with good times and unforgettable experiences." The band says after the tour, they will then "move on," according to their tour announcement.
Tickets for the San Antonio show are not yet available for sale. There are still tickets for the Austin show through Ticketmaster, starting at $49. The Dallas and Houston dates are currently sold out.
