Several arrested for murder of man reported missing back in December

On Tuesday, four men were arrested in Kenedy, Texas in connection to the man who had been reported missing, then found dead by officials.

KENEDY, Texas — Several men were arrested Tuesday in connection to the murder of man who had been reported missing by his family back in December.

Zach Decas had been reported missing by his family on December 15, 2022 and officials believed he was dead.

Further investigation led police to a body they believed to be Decas. 

The remains were confirmed to be that of the missing man by the Nueces County Medical Examiner. 

Six total people are facing charges in the the killing of Decas. Five have been arrested and charged and police are looking for one more.

Police Ryan Aleman, age 18 of Kenedy. If anyone has information on the location of the suspect please contact the Kenedy Police Department or the Karnes County Crime Stoppers.

Of the five who have been arrested, three of the men are being charged with Homicide, as well as Tampering with Evidence. The fourth man is just being charged with Tampering with Evidence. The specific charges for the fifth man have not been listed. All of the men are from Kenedy.

Further arrests are possible as the investigation is still ongoing. 

The Kenedy Police Department was assisted by the Texas Rangers on this investigation.
