SAN ANTONIO — A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting on the city's west side, according to an official with SAPD.

The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Concio Street. Officers were called out for a disturbance with a gun.

A woman called police and said that a man was in her home with a gun.

According to Chief William McManus, the 45-year-old suspect – later identified as Richard Rodriguez – was the on-again, off-again boyfriend of the mother of the woman who called police. The mother of the complainant was not home at the time of the incident.

When officers arrived, the suspect pointed a gun at officers and they fired at him multiple times.

While the officers were not injured, the suspect was killed.

The two officers involved in the shooting have served in law enforcement for 9 and 10 years, respectively.

This is a developing story and will be updated as we gather more information.
