SAPD: One person dead after shooting at San Antonio club; three others hurt

Several shots rang out during an overnight argument at the club, striking four people, police said.

SAN ANTONIO — Four people were shot at a northwest-San Antonio club early Thursday morning, one of them fatally, according to police officials.

No arrests have been made, nor have any suspects been identified as of yet.

The gunfire rang out at around 1:30 a.m. at Privat Social Club, located along the 5100 block of UTSA Boulevard. San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officials said about 20 people were involved in the argument at the Privat parking lot.

Several shots rang out at some point during the altercation, and the gunman hit four people, police said.

The Medical Examiner identified the man killed as Devon Jordan King, 20, of Corpus Christi.

The other three victims, all men, are expected to be OK after being shot in the leg.

Detectives say they are reviewing security cameras for surveillance footage that could help in their investigation.

SAPD has been called out to Privat nearly 70 times so far in 2023, according to data provided by the department. Most of those are for burglary and disturbance reports, but the department has also received seven calls for shootings in progress (including three related to Thursday morning’s incident).
