SAN ANTONIO – A beloved Alamo Heights Independent School District special needs teacher passed away after battling ALS.
Linda Duffy, a retired Howard Elementary School teacher, passed away after battling ALS, AHISD said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
Linda was named Texas Teacher of the Year in 2000 and taught children with special needs in AHISD her entire career. She herself, was an Alamo Heights High School graduate.
Linda’s husband, Dave Duffy, is also a retired teacher from Alamo Heights and her mother, Peggy Luna, retired from Howard as the principal’s secretary.
