Wanna work at a new golf resort? 1,000 jobs are up for grabs in North Texas

The hotel and resort, as well as golf courses, restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues, will open a few weeks before the Senior PGA Championship.

FRISCO, Texas — The Omni PGA Frisco Resort, slated to open in May 2023, is recruiting to hire more than 1,000 employees for its 660-acre golf-centered campus

According to the resort's public relations team, full-time, part-time and seasonal on-property opportunities are available with competitive benefits including: hotel, meal and recreation discounts, health & wellness insurance benefits, retirement planning & 401(k) match, personal & professional development programs, Omni Circle, student tuition reimbursements, sign-on bonuses for applicable opportunities and more.

Jobs up for grabs include administrative to operations and more than 130 leadership positions.

The Omni PGA Frisco Resort held a hiring event Friday and is holding another on Saturday, hoping to fill 1,000 new positions before its May 2 opening date.

Sydney Sage is one of the hundreds of people who showed up to the new UNT-Frisco campus on Friday. 

"I've got this," Sage said confidently before she entered the building. "I'm just going to be me."

Omni Resorts told WFAA'S Jobin Panicker that this hiring event is just one of several events planned before May. 

Jeff Smith, vice president and managing director of Omni PGA Frisco Resort, said they are paying the best hourly rate in the entire metroplex.

"A variety of roles from administrative to operations and more than 130 leadership positions span across the property’s experiences including two championship golf courses, collectively known as Fields Ranch, Omni’s signature Mokara Spa, world-class wedding and event venues, 13 dining options throughout the property, a retail and entertainment district and more," read a statement from their press release.

Sage went through two virtual interviews before landing the third in-person interview on Friday. She said she's been a jeweler and a driver and was searching for something in hospitality.

"We need servers, bar tenders, culinarians, front desk agents, to concierge, to housekeepers..." said Smith. "We're hiring the personality, we're hiring heart and desire. That's really the priority," he said.

The Saturday hiring event is also scheduled at the UNT-Frisco campus from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
