The Ford Mariachi Festival has canceled Wednesday night's events due to the severe weather that rolled through Bexar County earlier in the afternoon

SAN ANTONIO — The Ford Mariachi Festival has canceled Wednesday night's events due to the severe weather that rolled through Bexar County earlier in the afternoon.

The Fiesta event made the announcement through the official San Antonio River Walk Twitter account.

The Mariachi Festival kicked off April 24 and was slated to run until Thursday, April 26. In the cancellation announcement, officials stated that no decision has been made on tomorrow's scheduled performances, but that they hope "the weather will clear" so that the event can continue.

At 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning as storms moved towards San Antonio. The River Walk tweeted the announcement shortly after the warning was issued.

More information about the Ford Mariachi Festival can be found at the River Walk's website.
