A man who claimed he was protecting his wife by shooting and killing his girlfriend’s best friend has been sentenced to life in prison.
Back in 2016, police said Margarita Natividad, 28, was shot twice by her own gun after trying to protect Striblin’s girlfriend from being attacked by Striblin.
She and Striblin’s girlfriend arrived home and Striblen thought they had been out too late. Police said Striblin tried to attack his girlfriend and Natividad stepped in to protect her, and eventually pulled out a licensed handgun.
Striblin’s attorneys had argued that Natividad was trying to harm his girlfriend and he shot her in defense of the his girlfriend.
James Striblin was sentenced in court Thursday to life in prison for murder and life in prison for possession with intent to sell.
