Six months after Gabriel Moreno was found not guilty of murder, in connection with the beating death and dismemberment of another man, he's behind bars after being arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Last year, Gabriel Moreno was on trial for the 2014 murder of Jose Luis Menchaca.

Prosecutors claimed Moreno beat and suffocated the 35-year-old Menchaca before cutting up his remains over a botched drug deal between Menchaca and Daniel Moreno Lopez.

Investigators found the body of Menchaca in a garage in the 400 block of Hillwood Drive, a week after they believe he was murdered. Police initially arrested Lopez and suspected accomplice Candie Dominguez; three weeks later, Moreno was also taken into custody.

Earlier this year, a jury found Lopez guilty of murder. He was sentenced to life in prison in November.
