SAN ANTONIO — As Final Four fever reaches a peak here in San Antonio, there are plenty of events for families in the Alamo City to attend. Security is tight and venues have bag restrictions in place. A local company offers a fashionable solution to the rules.
Score! The Official Game Day Bag business produces a line of colorful, cheerful and blinged-out bags to fit venue policy. The San Antonio based company has been adding flair to purses that meet “clear bag” policies for the last four years. With all eyes on San Antonio for the culmination of March Madness, the experts remind us all to plan ahead.
“Our main concern is that fans going to any of the Final Four events are properly prepared so they have a good time,” said Kathi Holzschuher. “What we’re hearing is at a lot of the events people are not aware of the policies and are showing up with handbags that are too big or not clear.”
Just to be clear, there are two options if you take the wrong bag. You can walk all the way back to your car to stash your stuff. If you’ve been shuttled to the event, that bag is going in the trash.
“We have several styles here that will get you into the stadium. They aren’t all clear, which some people are unaware of as well,” said Holzschuher. “The Final Four NCAA requirements are, that it has to be 8 ½ by 5 ½ or smaller if it’s not clear.”
Clear bags have size restrictions as well. Clear bags cannot be larger than 12x6x12 inches. Check the rules and measure your bag before heading out the door.
