The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has unveiled its plans for a fourth location in the Alamo City.
Alamo Drafthouse La Cantera will open in late 2020, according to the Austin-based theater chain. The 38,370 square foot theater will feature 11 screens and more than 900 reclining seats, along with a full-service bar featuring four dozen local beers on tap.
The theater will be located at the northwest corner of La Cantera Pkwy as part of the La Cantera Crossing development.
“Alamo Drafthouse La Cantera will be the first new Alamo Drafthouse in San Antonio in close to ten years,” Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim League announced in a statement. “Because of that – and because we owe San Antonio for half of our name – we’re going to make this location really special.”
