HELOTES , Texas — Staff members at the Humane Society Thrift Store in Helotes say thieves stole a donation jar Saturday meant to raise money for a memorial for a cat who recently died.
Surveillance video provided by the store is somewhat blurry, but clearly shows a woman look around before swiping the donation jar off a counter at the store. A man appears to be with her in the video. Staff members say the theft happened between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
Staff members say the money was meant to be used for a memorial flower garden for Tom Selleck, a beloved office cat of the Helotes Humane Society. Tom Selleck passed away two weeks ago.
Humane Society staff members are urging anyone who may know the two people to call police right away.
