City of Odessa issues boil water notice

The break, located at the intersection of 42nd Street and San Jacinto Street, has caused flooding in the area.

ODESSA, Texas — As of 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, City of Odessa crews are continuing to make progress on the water line break. 

The line has been drained and is being excavated for upcoming repairs.

The City of Odessa is asking for drivers to avoid 42nd Street and San Jacinto/Tom Green to allow crews to work smoothly as they try to repair the line.

As of 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, the City of Odessa has officially put a boil water notice into effect.

Residents should expect a significant loss in pressure or no pressure at all. The notice will remain in effect until water pressure has been fixed. 

Boiling water should be used for cooking, drinking, brushing your teeth, making ice, washing and dishes.

The City of Odessa is asking that citizens only use water for necessities and turn off their sprinkler systems after a water line break at the intersection of 42nd Street and San Jacinto Street.

The break has caused crews to close valves for repairs, impacting the water system.

The break also caused flooding in the streets near the intersection.
