SAN ANTONIO — One man, Emeterio Hernandez Jr., 40, is in custody following a six-hour standoff with police that began Tuesday night.

Police responded to a 'family violence' call in the 800 block of Mandolin Wind on the city's north side last night.

When they arrived, a shot was fired.

According to family members, Hernandez had been drinking prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

After six hours, the 40-year-old was talked out of the home by family and negotiators without incident.

Hernandez has been charged with 'Assault-Family-Choking/Strangulation.'

He has been taken into custody.
