SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly broke into a UTSA apartment and fired several shots, injuring one.

Officers were called to the Prado Student Living complex at 7114 UTSA Blvd. around 5:30 Monday morning. Witnesses told police that three men in their 20s wearing UTSA hoodies kicked in a door to a third-floor apartment and immediately started shooting through one of the bedroom doors.

The suspects then kicked in that door and searched the bedroom. Two occupants were in that room and were shot at by the suspects; the victims, however, were uninjured.

Two other occupants were sleeping in the apartment's other bedroom. The bullets went through the wall to that bedroom, striking one victim.

The suspects then fled the scene in what police describe as a four-door maroon or red sedan, firing another shot at the building as they made their getaway. The victims told police that nothing was taken from the apartment.

Officers searched the area but could not find the vehicle. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident with the assistance of UTSA police.
