Canamore then hit a restaurant employee with the hammer who tried to stop the attack.

The victims escaped into another building and the man followed them, assaulting an employee and another Washington University student. Canamore then ran away and drove off in a Jeep.

Two of the victims were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested Canamore at a home in Webster Groves without incident.

Warrants were issued against Canamore for first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

He is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
