Corpus Christi Naval Air Station may be renamed to honor George H.W. Bush

Bush enlisted in the United States Navy on his 18th birthday following Pearl Harbor and received his wings at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi on June 9, 1943.

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — The Nueces County Commissioners Court will propose a resolution on Wednesday to rename the Naval-Air Station Corpus Christi after George H.W. Bush.

According to the Commissioners Court, Bush has enormous ties to Texas throughout his political career including making Texas his home. Commissioners Court want to honor Bush's memory due to him passing on Nov. 30.

Bush enlisted in the United States Navy on his 18th birthday following Pearl Harbor and received his wings at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi on June 9, 1943.

The Commissioners Court want to honor Bush for his lifetime of accomplishments and service to people by renaming Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi to George H.W. Bush Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
