University of the Incarnate Word volunteers rolled up their sleeves on Saturday morning, all for a good cause.
The Day of Service event brought area students and administrators together to various locations around the city to beautify areas needing improvement.
The volunteers painted over a graffiti-stained building on the west side, gardened at the Basilica of the Little Flower on North Zarzamora, and painted various homes.
The university says that events like these are held to honor the strong foundation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and improve the quality of life for others.
