20 new US citizens naturalized in San Antonio

Each was from a different home country.

SAN ANTONIO — Twenty people from around the world, each of them representing a different country, gathered at San Antonio City Hall to take the oath of citizenship on Friday.

The ceremony was hosted by U.S. Immigration Services, and Mayor Ron Nirenberg was on hand to deliver a keynote address.

"There is a lot of opportunities if you (become) a citizen of the United States than if you kept your citizenship from where you are (from)," said one newly naturalized citizen, Marichu Espina.
