Ferrell has been placed on unpaid administrative leave. Monday afternoon, Sheriff Javier Salazar served Ferrell with a "notice of proposed termination," according to BCSO.

Ferrell can appeal the proposal through "appropriate legal proceedings," the department says.

Salazar issued the following statement in regards to Ferrell's arrest: A DWI in and of itself is bad enough, furthermore taken in totality with a pattern of misbehavior, makes a mockery of public trust. This will not be tolerated in the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Ab investigation by SAPD is ongoing. BCSO Internal Affairs will also conduct their own separate investigation into the incident.
