The Newfoundland & Labrador Beard & Moustache Club in Canada has sold out of its “Merb’y” calendar, raising more than $300,000 in the process.
The word “Merb’ys” combines “mermaid” and “b’y,” which is a local term for boy. The calendar for 2018 is sold out, so you’ll have to wait until the 2019 edition becomes available to get your hands on a calendar. You can enjoy some of the photos from the 2018 calendar below.
A check totaling $300,466 was announced Saturday. The beneficiary is Spirit Horse, which uses therapy horses to enhance the mental health and life skills of youth and families.
The Newfoundland & Labrador Beard & Moustache Club was founded in January 2017, with the idea of creating a social group to help promote a positive image for facial hair, and to create a community for facial hair growers as well as enthusiasts, according to their website.
